Sibiu International Airport (Romanian: Aeroportul Internațional Sibiu) (IATA: SBZ, ICAO: LRSB) serves the city of Sibiu. It is located in southern Transylvania, 3 km (1.9 mi) west [1] of Sibiu and about 260 km (160 mi) northwest of Romania's capital city, Bucharest.
In December 2016, the county council administrator started a new modernization program. [3] The project involved the refurbishment of the runway and the apron (an estimated RON77 million investment). The auction was won by the Porr-Geiger Association, while construction began in early October 2017 and ended in June 2018. [4]
The Agnita railway line was a 760 mm (2 ft 5 + 15 ⁄ 16 in) Bosnian gauge rail line in Sibiu County, Romania. Originally it ran from Sibiu railway station to Sighișoara [2] in Mureș County. There also was a branch line to Vurpăr. However the final section from Sibiu to Agnita was closed in 2001.
