The Lebanese International University (LIU) is a private, non-protfit, independent institution of higher education governed by an autonomous Board of Trustees (Link to BOT). The University was established in 2001 under the name of Bekaa University in accordance with decree 5294 on April 9, 2001.
LIU has the right to change its tuition fees and charges without notice. Students should pay his or her fees on time or will suffer a penalty. The payment voucher can be found on the UMS account in the payments.
LIU welcomes all students from around the world to transfer and to have the chance to obtain an American style education. All transfer students transcripts will be reviewed to see which courses maybe transferable towards their program of study at LIU.

LIU is the first university in history of Sour region that includes more than 40 majors. Hundreds of students are no longer enforced to leave their remote villages to far cities as Saida and Beirut. Sour juts out from the coast of the Mediterranean and is located 83 km South of Beirut.

LIU’s academic work is formulated in modules of subject matter referred to as courses. Each course has a scheduled instructional time each semester with additional laboratory, field exercise, homework, and research time to get hands on practice.
