The Riverfront (Welsh: Glan yr Afon) is the principal and newest theatre and arts centre in the City of Newport. It is located on the west bank of the River Usk on the Bristol Packet Wharf in the city centre. Designed by architectural firm Austin-Smith:Lord, the centre was opened on 23 October 2004.

Ballet Cymru is a touring classical ballet company based in Newport, South Wales, formed in 1986 by Yvonne Greenleaf and choreographer Darius James. [1] Currently formed of 10 professional dancers, and up to 12 pre-professional dancers the company tours to around 70 venues each year throughout the UK.
The Torch Theatre is a not-for-profit theatre in Milford Haven, Wales. Established in 1977, it is one of only three building-based producing theatres in the whole of Wales . The initial concept was a small community enterprise, linked with a Further Education centre in the adjacent building.
Theatr Cymru, formerly Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, is the Welsh-language national theatre company of Wales, and was founded in 2003. The company is known for regularly touring a diverse range of theatre across the length and breadth Wales, including new writing, musicals, site-specific work, and classic plays.
The site lies at the edge of Ty'n-y-ffrith, the 'house in the sheep pasture'. [2]The first theatre at the site was the Victoria Palace, which opened in July 1894. [2] It was intended to be a temporary building, [1] and it was designed as a 1,150-seat concert hall [3] for Jules Rivière (then aged 75) [2] and his 42-musician orchestra.
