In March 2012, Thorpe Park announced it had contracted the band You Me at Six to create the world's first roller coaster single for the launch of The Swarm. The song, "The Swarm", was released on iTunes on 18 March 2012, a few days after the opening of the roller coaster. [28] The song entered the UK Singles Charts at number 23. [29]

Pleasure Beach Resort, formerly known as Blackpool Pleasure Beach, is an amusement park situated on Blackpool's South Shore, in the county of Lancashire, North West England.
The ride is set in a 1960s New England–style fishing village "Amity Cove", which appears to have been hit by a tidal wave.Throughout Amity Cove, a pastiche radio station named "WWTP Radio" plays rock and roll and surf music from the era (for example The Beach Boys and Elvis Presley), along with parody advertisements, news reports and interviews with village characters.

Thorpe Marsh Nature Reserve is a 77-hectare (190-acre) nature reserve located south-west of Thorpe in Balne, north of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England. The reserve is managed and maintained by a team of volunteers under the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust [ 1 ] as well as Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council .
