Hiram Wesley Evans (September 26, 1881 – September 14, 1966) was an American dentist and political activist who served as the Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, an American white supremacist group, from 1922 to his resignation in 1939. A native of Alabama, Evans attended Vanderbilt University studying dentistry.
He taught dermatology and leprosy to doctors, nurses, and other health workers. Among other things, he was the first to introduce rifamycin in the treatment of leprosy, in 1963. Jean Astruc: 1684–1766 American Wrote the first great treatise on syphilis and venereal diseases, and considered, by some, to be the "founder of modern dermatology" [2]

George was born to Diantha Louise George (née Cogdell; 1919–2003) and James Robert George (1918–1996) in Denton, Texas. [1] She attended North Texas State University (now University of North Texas) for three years until she was crowned Miss Texas in 1970. [2] At that time, Texas Christian University awarded scholarships to Miss Texas honorees.
