The University of Strathclyde (Scottish Gaelic: Oilthigh Shrath Chluaidh [5]) is a public research university located in Glasgow, Scotland. Founded in 1796 as the Andersonian Institute , it is Glasgow's second-oldest university, having received its royal charter in 1964 as the first technological university in the United Kingdom.
2004: Authentication and integration with central university systems (LDAP/ADS, PEGASUS). 2005 SPIDER V Start of session 05-06 sees over 10,000 registered users. 2006: Around 900 classes from dozens of degrees use SPIDER to support their teaching. 2007: Classes climb to over 1000 in 11 clusters, with over 7,500 users logging per month.
The Architecture Building was constructed between 1966 and 1967 to a design by Professor Frank Fielden (1915-2001) - then the head of the Department of Architecture of Building Science at the newly established University of Strathclyde. The Strathclyde Business School (SBS) is one of four faculties forming the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.Founded in 1973, but tracing its history back to the establishment of the Royal College of Science and Technology's Department of Industrial Administration in 1947, the school is located on Cathedral Street within the John Anderson campus of the university.
