Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey (born 19 February 1996) is a British-Swedish-Spanish [5] singer and songwriter. The daughter of English music producer Cameron McVey and Swedish singer Neneh Cherry, she rose to prominence in 2017 with her single "Finders Keepers" which peaked at number eight on the UK Singles Chart.
Cherry was born Neneh Mariann Karlsson in Stockholm, Sweden, the daughter of Monika "Moki" Karlsson (1943–2009), a Swedish painter and textile artist, and the musician Ahmadu Jah (1936–2018).
McVey met Neneh Cherry in 1987 at Heathrow Airport while they were en route to Japan as fashion models as part of London Designer Ray Petri's Buffalo Posse. The couple married in 1990; they have two daughters, [11] singers Tyson, born in 1989 (also known as Lolita Moon), and Mabel. [12] The family lived throughout Europe.
