The Indiana Theatre is a multiple use performing arts venue located at 140 W. Washington Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built as a movie palace and ballroom in 1927 and today is the home of the Indiana Repertory Theatre. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
Grauman was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1879, [1] the son of David Grauman (1851–1921) and Rosa Goldsmith (1853–1936). [2] Grauman's parents were theatrical performers on show circuits. [3] They were both Jewish. Grauman and his father went to Dawson City, Yukon, for the Gold Rush when he was a young man. He worked there as a paperboy.
