The article says the first Egg McMuffin was made in 1975 at Fairview McDonald's. I was a McDonald's manager in Dallas, TX from 1972-1976. We started serving Egg McMuffins in either late 1972 or early 1973. A 6 month trial in a test market before roll-out was common then so I suspect the first Egg McMuffin was served in Fairview in early 1972.
