IV of Spades is a funk-rock band from the Philippines. [4] Formed in 2014, it consists of lead vocalist and bassist Zild Benitez, lead guitarist Blaster Silonga, and drummer Badjao de Castro. Unique Salonga, the band's original lead vocalist, left the band in April 2018 and pursued a solo career, after which Benitez took over singing duties.
Blaster was born in Sta. Monica, Tañong, Marikina. He is the son of veteran musician Allan Silonga, a member of 90s band Kindred Garden and the singing group Daddy's Home which finished third in The X Factor Philippines, and the current Senior A&R Manager at Def Jam Recordings Philippines label under UMG Philippines.
On May 5, 2018, IV of Spades frontman Unique Salonga had officially departed from his band, seeking to pursue "personal endeavors", much to the dismay of fans. On July 13, Unique released his first single from the album, "Midnight Sky", accompanied by a black-and-white music video.
