Brightmoor is a neighborhood located in Detroit, Michigan, near the northwest border of the city. [3] Brightmoor is defined by the Brightmoor Alliance as being bordered by Puritan Avenue to the north, the CSX railway to the south, Evergreen Road to the east, and West Outer Drive, Dacosta Street, and Telegraph Road to the west.
Cowles constructed a sawmill near here. By 1841, there were four cabins, a gristmill, a sawmill and a distillery in the area, and in 1842 mill operator John Hamilton platted the village of Buchanan. Early development is not well documented, but a number of mills were built in Buchanan, drawing in workers.
Michigan's 32nd Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. The 32nd district was created by the 1850 Michigan Constitution, as the 1835 constitution only permitted a maximum of eight senate districts. [2] [3] It has been represented by Republican Jon Bumstead since 2023, succeeding fellow Republican Kenneth Horn.
Sanford is in central Midland County, on the eastern side of Jerome Township. It is 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Midland, the county seat, and 12 miles (19 km) southeast of Coleman. U.S. Route 10, a four-lane freeway, passes through the north side of the village, connecting Midland and Coleman.
