  2. Which Battery Is Better Auto-Zone Or Advance | BobIsTheOilGuy

    bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/which-battery-is-better...

Feb 20, 2012. #7. Johnson Controls makes batteries for both AAP and AZ. The Duralast Gold is said to be built to tougher standards and specs than the AAP batteries. The specs are also said to be set by Autozone, not Johnson Controls. I have Duralast Gold batteries in my truck and gf's car.

  3. Costco vs Autozone batteries? | BobIsTheOilGuy

    bobistheoilguy.com/.../costco-vs-autozone-batteries.227014

Location. Delaware. Dec 2, 2014. #2. Costco sells Interstate batteries which I believe are produced by JC. Autozone is JC as well. Costco is 42 month full replacement warranty. I bet they are priced lower than Autozone in my experience. I don't know which one is better, if there is any difference at all.

  4. Who makes Duralast (Autozone) Platinum AGM Batteries?

    bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/who-makes-duralast...

Location. California. Sep 3, 2019. #11. It's not a JCI. JCI's AGMs are made in Spain/Germany or Mexico. My guess would be Exide, as there was an recent C-suite shakeup at AutoZone involving some former Exide staff. I've seen Duralast or Valucraft-labelled Exides at AZ lately.

  5. Best store brand battery? | BobIsTheOilGuy

Amazon and Ebay first. Next it would be Autozone as it was easy to drive to during the workweek--although with work from home AAP is the closest store to me. I do shop some specific online vendors for special stuff, time to time. Basically anything that can wait a few days for or be scheduled will get mailorder parts.

  7. Autozone, Advance Auto, etc. Don't discounts/coupons apply to...

    bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/autozone-advance-auto...

5 years since last battery, so far so good, but decided to take a peek at current costs. Ordered online for pickup last time. With coupon got 20% off and (and even a few more % with a credit-card offer) - closer to Walmart or Club price territory. So head over to Autozone and AdvanceAuto...

  8. Who makes these batteries, and which would you recommend?

    bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/who-makes-these...

As you can see from the pics below, the Oreilly and Autozone appear to be the same battery. I am not sure who makes any of these. $120 walmart-everstart-maxx-WDC31M-marine (sticker on side says 29M, but top says 31M) (my local store actually has this same battery in a 1 year warranty for $99 instead of the 120 for 2 year, fixed cap sucks though)

  9. How does AutoZone charge a battery in an hr? | BobIsTheOilGuy

    bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/how-does-autozone-charge...

The fast charger charges 12-volt batteries in about 30 minutes. AutoZone also offers overnight battery charging for 6 or 12-volt lawn and garden, motorcycle and marine batteries." The proper way to charge a battery is like 2A all night or several hrs on say 10A is aceptable if your in a hurry. Quick charging a battery, especially in 1/2 hr or ...

  10. Auto Zone batteries? | BobIsTheOilGuy

    bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/auto-zone-batteries.211644

Feb 2, 2014. #20. Batteries differ from place to place, they are built to the retailers specs, you will see batteries from the same manufacter perform at all levels depending on what the goal of the retailer is. The gold battery at autozone is a great battery, I sold them for 15 years.

  11. Duralast Gold Batteries | BobIsTheOilGuy

    bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/duralast-gold-batteries...

So I'm looking at the 'Duralast Gold' battery from AutoZone. Seems like a decent battery, with a 3 year full replacement and then a 2 year pro-rate from year 3 to year 5. The OEM battery is a Group 27F (710 CCA), so I want to maintain that larger 27F size, and the Duralast Gold does have one in that group size for $133.
