The Rock am Ring (German for "Rock at the Ring") and Rock im Park ("Rock in the Park") festivals are two simultaneous rock music festivals held annually in Germany. While Rock am Ring takes place at the Nürburgring race track, Rock im Park takes place at the Zeppelinfeld in Nuremberg. Rock am Ring festival was founded by Marek Lieberberg in 1985.
Prices for the festival have risen and are currently at a level similar to other major Rock festivals, such as Rock am Ring and Hurricane Festival. After several years of success in which the festival sold out within hours, the first 60,000 tickets for the 2017 festival were sold in mid-2016. 55,000 tickets were sold within the first hour.
Marek Lieberberg (born 7 May 1946) [1] is a German concert promoter, best known for founding and organising the Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals. He founded Marek Lieberberg Concert Agency (MLK) in 1987, Germany's leading live music promoter. In 2014, the European Festivals Awards granted him the Lifetime Achievement Award.
