Fest Bossa & Jazz is a cultural and tourism project held annually in the cities of Natal, Pipa Beach (Tibau do Sul), São Miguel do Gostoso and Mossoró in Rio Grande do Norte. [1] The festival takes place in multiple venues including performances, pocket shows, lectures, workshops and social gatherings for musicians and students.
The 49th Telluride Film Festival took place September 2–5, 2022. In June 2022, it was announced that the festival would receive the dissident Russian filmmakers Kantemir Balagov and Kira Kovalenko as Guest Directors "as key collaborators in the Festival's programming decisions, bringing new ideas and overlooked films to Telluride". [1]
AllMusic awarded the album 4 stars with its review by Scott Yanow stating "Rather than play a watered-down version of bossa nova in New York studios (which was becoming quite common as the bossa nova fad hit its peak in 1962), flutist Herbie Mann went down to Brazil and recorded with some of the top players of the style. ...the music is as much Brazilian as it is jazz.

Bossa nova (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈbɔsɐ ˈnɔvɐ] ⓘ) is a relaxed style of samba [nb 1] developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. [2] It is mainly characterized by a calm syncopated rhythm with chords and fingerstyle mimicking the beat of a samba groove, as if it was a simplification and stylization on the guitar of the rhythm produced by a samba school band.
"Blue Bossa" is an instrumental jazz composition by Kenny Dorham. It was introduced on Joe Henderson 's 1963 album Page One . [ 1 ] A blend of hard bop and bossa nova , the tune was possibly influenced by Dorham's visit to the Rio de Janeiro Jazz Festival in 1961.
