In early 2010, Carver County began construction of the section from St. Bonifacius to Mayer. The first trail section runs 7 miles (11 km). It officially opened on May 21, 2011. Carver County extended the trail in 2012 from Mayer, west through New Germany to the Carver/McLeod County Line. The second section runs for 5.5 miles (8.9 km).
County Road 45 was a north-south route in southeastern Carver County. [14] It served San Francisco Township and Dahlgren Township. [1] It started at the Scott County line (continuing from County 9) and ended at County Road 40. The route was about 4 miles (6.4 km) in length. The route is known today as the southernmost portion of County Road 11. [1]
It features 19 miles (31 km) of paved biking/hiking trails, 21 miles (34 km) of horse trails, and a 13-mile (21 km) mountain bike trail. It also has a championship level disc golf course and a popular chlorinated swimming pond and a creative play area. Elm Creek also has a large fully fenced off-leash dog area.
