Redang Airport (IATA: RDN, ICAO: WMPR) is an airport on Redang Island, Kuala Nerus District, Terengganu, Malaysia. The airport was briefly closed in 2009 for runway expansion, reopening on April 16, 2009. The runway lies along the base of a long ridge immediately to the west. Another ridge runs parallel 1 kilometre (0.6 mi) to the east.
Previously, Berjaya Air operated scheduled flights to Tioman and Redang. The Berjaya Air service ended on 31 October 2010 and relocated to Changi Airport, though was discontinued after four years. [20] Berjaya Air has since returned to Seletar from Redang on a charter basis. [21]
The airline was established and began operations in 1989. It is owned by the Berjaya Group (through Berjaya Land) and was formerly known as Pacific Air Charter.. At one time the airline had its head office in Terminal 3 at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport; [3] its offices as of mid-1992 were at Terminal 2.
