Shelley Duvall's Bedtime Stories (also known as Bedtime Stories) is a 1992 American live-action/animated anthology television series that originally aired on Showtime.The series, hosted by Duvall, was a showcase of short animated adaptations of children's books with narration provided by celebrity guests.
The term "bedtime story" was coined by Louise Chandler Moulton in her 1873 book, Bed-time Stories.The "ritual of an adult reading out loud to a child at bedtime formed mainly in the second half of the nineteenth century and achieved prominence in the early twentieth century in tandem with the rising belief that soothing rituals were necessary for children at the end of the day.

Bedtime Stories is a 2008 American fantasy comedy film directed by Adam Shankman from a screenplay by Matt Lopez and Tim Herlihy based on a story by Lopez. It stars Adam Sandler in his first appearance in a family film, alongside Keri Russell, Guy Pearce, Aisha Tyler, Russell Brand, Richard Griffiths, Teresa Palmer, Lucy Lawless, and Courteney Cox.
He is patron of several organisations including Storybook Dads, a UK charity which allows prisoners to send recordings of themselves reading bedtime stories to their own children, to help stay connected to some of the 200,000 children affected by parental imprisonment each year.

I run a story sharing website that allows adults to share audio recordings of themselves reading bedtime stories, kind of a YouTube for bedtime stories. It won "Favourite Irish TV Show" for two years in a row at the 2006 and 2007 TV Now Awards. It was also nominated for an IFTA Award for "Best Entertainment Show 2007" and won the award in 2008. The second series began on RTÉ Two on 16 October 2006, with a month break in January before returning on 5 February 2007 and running until April 2007.
