Greco, the "modified Byzantine" revival-style structure was built for the congregation of Tifereth Israel, which had migrated eastward from a more central area they inhabited as the first reform congregation in Cleveland from 1850 until the early 20th Century.

It is noted for containing two large organs (Austin opus 823 and a Wurlitzer Opus 793), and for many years was home to the Cleveland Orchestra.
