Armored Saint is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1982. Since 1990, the band has consisted of John Bush on lead vocals, Joey Vera on bass, Jeff Duncan on guitar and the Sandoval brothers (Gonzo and Phil) on drums and guitar, respectively.
Joey Vera (born April 24, 1963) is an American bassist who is known as a member of the heavy metal band Armored Saint and progressive metal band Fates Warning.During 2004 and early 2005, he toured with Anthrax as a fill-in for Frank Bello, who had taken a break from the band. [1]

Its lineup features Armored Saint and former Anthrax frontman John Bush, Kerry King sideman and former Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmel, Adrenaline Mob guitarist Mike Orlando, Exodus bassist Jack Gibson, and Overkill and Shadows Fall drummer Jason Bittner.
The band took a hiatus in 1977 after three of its members, including singer Ronnie Van Zant, died in a plane crash. In 1987, Lynyrd Skynyrd reformed as a tribute tour to prompt the band's rebirth.
