The Royal China Company was a dinnerware manufacturer in Sebring, Ohio, established in 1934 and ceased operations in 1986. [1]In 1934, Beatrice Miller, William H. Habenstreit, and John Bert Briggs were on South 15th Street in Sebring, Ohio, after buying the former E. H. Sebring China Company (formerly the Oliver China Company building).
Sebring was founded by the Sebring family from East Liverpool, Ohio, who were successful pottery owners that sought to establish their own pottery town. [5] Sebring was incorporated 1899. [ 5 ] Much of the original family built the establishing houses and factories in the town, which at their high employed approximately 3,300 workers. [ 5 ]
The facility was rebuilt in 1924 and was called "Plant #4". In 1955 the company went bankrupt, and the East Palestine facility was reorganized and came under the control and administration of the Royal China Company, who renamed the facility "Royal China Incorporated, East Palestine Division".
