The 2022–2024 United Kingdom railway strikes were an industrial dispute between rail workers and companies, with the latter supported by the UK government. The rail workers were represented by several unions including the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) and the Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen (ASLEF).
The first train was delivered for testing in London in October 2024. Planned starting date for the service is the end of 2025, first on the Piccadilly line, with full deployment by the end of 2027. The trains will enter service with a train driver, with future potential for driverless operation.
