Orphaned siblings Andi and Bruce swindle a pawn shop owner in order to buy food for their dog, Friday. However, they are quickly caught and brought to the police station where they get picked up by their social worker, Bernie Wilkins who takes them back to their foster parents, Lois and Carl Scudder, who do not appear to care for either Andi, Bruce, or even Friday.

IMHO, I think that the plot section needs work. I noticed that when the author described how Heather followed them to the hotel that afterwards a lot of plot events were skipped, i.e the challenges they face taking care of the of the dogs before Mark shows up and how Andi was convinced to go to the party, which recalled past fabrications Andi told Dave in the pet store.
