THe ipad was created to be a single user device so there's no support for locking down any single part of it. If you have your mail and want to keep it from other users, your best bet is to access yahoo via safari where you can log in and log out.

Can’t get yahoo mail on IPad Pro or my iPhone 12 Pro Max? I am still not able to get my Yahoo mail on either my IPAd pro, or my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I have given up and now use the Yahoo app, although I don’t like it much. My partner has exactly the same problem with her iPad 4 in which Yahoo has not updated her emails for several months ( she hasn’t tried deleting and re-connecting the account. Like me, her iPhone 11 Pro Mail works fine with the the same Yahoo account.
