Hey there everyone, I just want to give everyone a heads up warning about a manufacturer that claims to produce high end rifles. Christensen Arms. I purchased a CA BA Tactical in 6.5 Creedmoor 26" Carbon fiber barrel. This is a $2,700 Rifle, not to mention i put a Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27X56.
The problem is that their rifles are crazy expensive. Even building a 6.5lb rifle using a Proof barrel would be tough at $2k. The CA Ridgeline is under 2k, weights 6.5lb, has heavy barrel profile, and has a 1 moa guarantee.
I have a Christensen arms traverse in 7mm rem mag and I love it. One of if not my favorite rifle it is crazy accurate with factory ammo and light as a feather. My friend owns a BA tactical in 6.5 and it is also awesome. I personally would not hesitate to buy another
If I were going to spend anything close to that kind of money on a rifle I'd just call Len and order one of his through the LRH store, no need shopping around. I'm truly amazed at how many 2nd hand Christiensen Arms rifles I see for sale which makes me very leery of them.
Well, I was finally able to get out to the range again with the "Good Ammo" that I had on hand. I am a bit less than pleased.
I am continuing on with my review of this rifle as when I was researching rifles to buy, Christensen arms came up as mostly positive reviews with a few negative reviews. I was afforded the opportunity to get out and shoot another range day with this rifle. My criteria for my rifle was something...
I was leaning toward a custom rifle, but I ran across the Christensen Arms Mesa Long Range. It seems to be about right and runs $1,400 out the door. That being said, $1,400 isn't a bad deal for a turnkey rifle with a brake, lower-end TT trigger, and an acceptable stock.
I think you can buy with confidence. I compared the Mesa to many rifles when I was in the market for a light weight sporting rifle. The build quality really surpassed the Kimber and other "high-end" production rifles in my estimation. I did a fair amount of research too and did not find anything negative about Christensen Arms.
I have two ridgelines a 6.5 Creedmoor and 308- both 1/3 guns. I have the same calibers in their ar-10's, both .5" guns.
Hells Canyon Speed/Long Range/Western Hunter Long Range vs Christensen Arms Mesa. 28 Nosler or 30 Nosler. Do any of these have accuracy/QC problems? The Mesa has the sub MOA guarantee and great trigger, but the 60 degree bolt, tang safety and 1:8 twist of the Browning is a plus.
