National Council for Vocational Education and Training is an autonomous,non-statutory and regulatory body under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for monitoring the institutions engaged in providing short term and long term educational training in vocational education and designing the basic standards required for operations of such institutions.
Training periods range from six months to two years in over 130 different specialties. Prerequisites for the courses range from 8th to 12th class pass.
