Over time, Birdville ISD has grown and expanded. As new students have been added, the district has built new schools, renovated and rebuilt old schools, and combined multiple schools into unified campuses as "partner schools". Below is a list of significant changes.
Birdville High School (BHS) is a public high school located in the city of North Richland Hills, Texas and is the second newest school in the Birdville Independent School District (second to Walker Creek Elementary). Established in 1999, it was the third high school built into the Birdville Independent School District.
The Birdville Center of Technology and Advanced Learning (BCTAL) is a magnet school in the Birdville Independent School District, [2] located in North Richland Hills, Texas. BCTAL offers students of Haltom High School, Richland High School, and Birdville High School courses in career and technology.
Birdville’s last bond election was in 2018, when a $252.8 million bond program passed. The 2022 midterm votes on the bond package are preliminary and not official until they are canvassed.
Richland High School opened in 1961 as the second high school in the Birdville Independent School District. [3] The school mascot is a blue and red lion. The emblem was changed in 2020 [4] due to its controversial emblem.
Originally known as Birdville Academy when it opened in 1858, Haltom High School was named Birdville High School when Birdville ISD was incorporated in 1926. [4] It was the only high school in the district until Richland High School opened in the fall of 1961.
Keller ISD covers 51 square miles (130 km 2) in northeast Tarrant County in cities such as Keller, Fort Worth, Haltom City, Watauga, North Richland Hills, Hurst, Colleyville, Southlake, and Westlake. [4]
