Time II is the fourth studio album by Finnish heavy metal band Wintersun. After numerous delays and being in development hell for 18 years, it was released on 30 August 2024 via Nuclear Blast and marked their first studio release in seven years, following The Forest Seasons in 2017.
On 9 February, the band revealed the track list and cover art for Time II. [32] The band released Time II on 30 August. [33] The band also released a 12-disc boxset entitled the Time Package, containing alternate versions of tracks from Time II and The Forest Seasons, as well as five albums of early demo tracks for a planned four-album series. [34]
Wintersun was initially planned as a parallel project alongside Ensiferum, but in January, 2004 he was forced to leave Ensiferum due to clashes between their touring schedule and the studio recording time he had booked for Wintersun. In 1997, Mäenpää had to put his musical career on hold to take part in Finland's compulsory military service.

In 2004, he joined the band Wintersun [1] [2] and has toured with them since then. He also played for Imperanon [3] until their break-up in 2007. He has written many unreleased songs with Imperanon.
