Kulai Town (Bandar Kulai) in Kulai District. Kulai is located 29 km (18 mi) from Johor Bahru city and 8 km (5.0 mi) from Skudai. It is located in the center of the district. Kulai town and other towns within this district are located along the old trunk road linking Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru.

Kulai Municipal Council. Kulai Municipal Council (Malay: Majlis Perbandaran Kulai) is the local authority of Kulai District in Johor, Malaysia. It was formerly known as Kulai District Council (Majlis Daerah Kulai (MDKu) from 1 January 1976 until 20 April 2004. The district council was upgraded to the present-day municipal council on 21 April 2004.
