Fred W. Roberts (November 16, 1875 – July 28, 1959) was an American college football player and coach from Wellington, Kansas. He served as the University of Oklahoma 's third head football coach. Roberts played for the Oklahoma Sooners in 1899, before transferring to Washburn University to play for Bennie Owen .
Roberts played four years of college basketball at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Utah, from 1978 to 1982. He played in 119 total games, averaged 15.5 points and seven rebounds and shot 54.6% from the field. [1] His playing ability along with Danny Ainge and Greg Kite led to the success of the BYU program during this time.
