Dormammu (/ d ɔːr ˈ m ɑː m uː /) is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, the character first appeared in Strange Tales #126 (November 1964).
Dormammu empowers the Hood with enough magic to find and kill Doctor Strange, so that Parker can become the new Sorcerer Supreme. The Hood approaches Strange, while he is talking to Wiccan. As they fight, Strange tells the Hood that Dormammu's promises are empty, as are all other demons, but Parker ignores him and attacks them both.

When Spider-Man and War Machine join forces to fight Venom, Dormammu tells Mordo that there is another symbiote, which Mordo then bestows to Cletus Kasady, naming the result into the evil "Carnage". After retrieving the probe, Dormammu orders Carnage to steal the "life force" energy from humans, so he may gain enough strength to enter our world.
Baron Mordo and Dormammu help Eddie Brock's insane cell-mate Cletus Kasady bond with another symbiote, who later dubs himself Carnage. Carnage then assists Venom in his task to retrieve the technology from Stark Enterprises, though when Carnage attempts to destroy Spider-Man, Venom attacks him, telling him that Spider-Man is his and his alone.
