Nebraska Tailwaters Recreation Area is a public recreation area located on the southern bank of the Missouri River, immediately downstream of Gavins Point Dam in Cedar County, Nebraska. [1] The area offers 42 campsites (31 RV campsites and 11 tent-only campsites), boat launch facilities, fishing pier, and shore access to the Missouri River. [ 2 ]
Crofton was platted in 1892. [4] The city was named after Crofton Court, England, the former estate of a railroad promoter. [5] [6] Gavins Point Dam was constructed from 1952 to 1957 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and impounds Lewis and Clark Lake on the Missouri River. The dam is located approximately 10 miles north of Crofton.

The Argo Hotel in Nebraska is a historic hotel listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Also or previously known as The New Meridian Hotel and as The New Meridian Sanatorium, it is Nebraska historic site NeHBS #KX05-015. It was built as a hotel in 1912 and was converted to a health clinic in 1940.
Nebraska Highway 12 is a highway in northern and northeastern Nebraska. It has a western terminus at U.S. Highway 83 in Valentine and an eastern terminus at U.S. Highway 20 west of Jackson . The highway largely lies within 10 miles (16 km) of the South Dakota border its entire length.
