Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation abbreviated (GSRTC), is a Government State Transport Undertaking of Gujarat for passengers facilitating with road public transport in moffusil / city services. The bus rapid transport system was created to serve a growing population. Later in 2014, it was decided that the Central Government will own 50% of the company.

It was established on February 4, 2010, with an initial investment of ₹202 crore (approximately US$25 million). The company is headquartered in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India.
There existed three transport services viz. ABC Co. (Ahmadabad Bus Corporation), Morris Transport and Munshi Bus service, before the municipal bus service. There was a shortage of petrol till 1946 due to the Second World War and the petrol supply was in limited quantity even in 1947 when the municipal bus service started.
