Napoleon and Samantha is a 1972 American adventure drama film directed by Bernard McEveety and written by Stewart Raffill. Filmed in and around John Day, Oregon , it stars Johnny Whitaker and Jodie Foster (in her feature film debut) in the title roles.
Whitaker went on to star in the 1973 Sid and Marty Krofft Saturday morning children's series Sigmund and the Sea Monsters alongside Billy Barty and Scott Kolden, and appeared in feature films, including Disney's Snowball Express (1972), The Biscuit Eater (1972), Napoleon and Samantha (1972), and The Magic Pony (1977).
He also directed Jodie Foster in her debut film, Disney's Napoleon and Samantha. He produced the TV series Cimarron Strip, which he often directed, as well. His Western directing credits include such television series as Rawhide, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Virginian, The Big Valley, and Young Maverick, and the miniseries How the West Was Won.
