The museum is open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from, roughly, Easter (Good Friday) to the last weekend in September each year. An exhibition gallery in Louth Museum An exhibition gallery in Louth Museum. The Louth Naturalists' Antiquarian and Literary Society was founded in 1884 and the Society has run Louth Museum since 1910. The award-winning museum was designed by John James Cresswell in 1910. [3] The museum's first Curator was Charles Smith Carter (1865-1933).
Lincoln Museum has existed since 2005. It is a merger between the Usher Gallery, which was established in 1927, and the City and County Museum, founded in 1906.The first curator of the Lincoln City and County Museum was Arthur Smith (1869–1947), who was born in Leicester and raised in Grimsby, and who was interested in natural history. In November 2021, the group bought the former RAF Sergeants' Mess at Hemswell Cliff. The building provides a permanent home for the collection and forms the Broadcast Engineering Museum. [8] As well as the main building, there are east and west wings of similar size and two large function rooms and workshops behind.
