On March 28, 2011, Michael Lindsay was announced as the eighth president of Gordon College and began his tenure on July 1 later that year. At age 39, when he assumed his position, Lindsay was the second youngest college president of any college or university nationally then ranked by U.S. News & World Report. [10]

Founded in 1949, [6] the GSM MBA was the first MBA program to be launched outside of North America. [7] The GSM, as of January 2008, was formally replaced by the Gordon Institute of Business Science. In 1933 the state offered the former Georgia Industrial College campus to Gordon College. The high school and junior college departments moved to the new campus, while the elementary school moved into the former high school building. [3] Gordon College was known as Gordon Military College from the mid-1930s until 1972. [4]
Bruce Herman (born 1953) is an artist who holds the Lothlórien Distinguished Chair in the art department of Gordon College.He achieved both a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and a Master of Fine Arts from the School for the Arts at Boston University, where he studied under Philip Guston, James Weeks, David Aronson, Reed Kay, and Arthur Polonsky.
