A nephrectomy is the surgical removal of a kidney, performed to treat a number of kidney diseases including kidney cancer. It is also done to remove a normal healthy kidney from a living or deceased donor, which is part of a kidney transplant procedure. [1]
Thyroidectomy is the removal of all or part of the thyroid gland. Tonsillectomy is the removal of the tonsils. Trabeculectomy is the removal of part of the eye's trabecular meshwork as a treatment for glaucoma. Tumorectomy is the surgical removal of a tumor. [5] [6] Observational studies showed positive outcomes up to four years of follow-up.
