With more than 100 kilometres (62 mi) of paved and unpaved trails, the park is a popular area for hiking and biking, as well as for picnicking, swimming, fishing, and observing wildlife.

It lies at an elevation of 1,005 m (3,297 ft) and has a surface of 0.4 km 2 (40 ha; 99 acres). [1] First opened in late summer 1978, it is a swimming area open during the summer as a public beach.
