Built in 1760–61, it was designated a National Historic Landmark as one of the few buildings unambiguously attributable to Peter Harrison, the first formally trained architect to work in the British colonies.

Westfield Riccarton, also known by its former name Riccarton Mall, is a large retail complex located in the Christchurch, New Zealand, suburb of Riccarton. First opened on 3 November 1965, it is Christchurch's oldest shopping mall. [1] The complex is currently anchored by Farmers, Kmart, Pak'nSave and Hoyts. [2]
The mall consists of 82 retailers, including Countdown, Farmers and the first Reading Cinemas multiplex in Christchurch. In 2003, a $50 million NZD upgrade was completed, nearly doubling the size to 35,343 m 2 (380,429 ft 2) . [2] The entry plaza of the mall won an NZILA Silver award for landscape design in 2004. [3]
During 2017 another small community was established at Kakahu by the Christchurch monastery. On 7 October 2020, the community was invited to establish a monastery in the Diocese of Great Falls–Billings, Montana, US. [10]
