Lake Orion Community Schools is a school district headquartered in Lake Orion, Michigan, serving students from the Village of Lake Orion and Orion Township; and small parts of Oxford Township, Oakland Township, and Independence Township.
Lake Orion High School is a public high school located in Orion Township, Michigan, United States. It is a part of Lake Orion Community Schools . Its motto is "Once a dragon, always a dragon," coined by Jeff Heath.
Lake Orion (less commonly known as "Orion Lake") is a medium-sized inland lake, with area of 506 acres. [ 23 ] [ 24 ] It has a maximum depth of 80 feet and an average depth of 16 feet. [ 23 ] The lake is located within the Village of Lake Orion and Orion Township .
Orion Charter Township (/ ˈ ɒr i ə n / ORR-ee-ən) is a charter township of Oakland County, Michigan, United States. The population was 38,206 as of the 2020 census. [3] The official motto of the township and village is, "Where living is a vacation". [4] "Lake Orion" is often used to describe both the village and the township.
It is a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School, awarded for the 2000-2001 school year. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] One of seven elementary schools in the Lake Orion Community Schools , Stadium Drive was built in 1972 - around the time when many schools were built in the district - and houses Kindergarten through fifth grades.

The lake is located within the Village of Lake Orion and Orion Township. It is the eighth largest lake by area in Oakland County, Michigan. The current area of the lake was formed by a collection of smaller lakes over time, beginning with the damming of Paint Creek in the 1830s. [3] Canals have also been dredged to maximize lake frontage.
