It is a TASS accredited college, with a dedicated sports centre situated on its site. It was established in 1972, following a reorganisation of various schools on the Billingham Campus site. The school reverted to its original name of Mildenhall College at this time. The school converted to academy status on 4 July 2014 and was renamed Mildenhall College Academy.
