The seminary publishes a journal for professional theologians, a magazine for laity and for the seminary community, and books. Concordia Theological Quarterly, a continuation of The Springfielder, is a theological journal of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, published for its ministerium by the faculty of the seminary.
Ferry began his career at Concordia University Wisconsin as a professor of history in 1991. During the course of his parish work, he received his M.Div., STM, and Ph.D. from Concordia Seminary. In September 1999, he was installed as assistant professor of exegetical theology at Concordia Seminary. In May 2005, he was advanced to the rank of associate professor. In August 2007, he became the director of the seminary's graduate school.
From there he joined Concordia Seminary as missions professor of Systematic Theology, a position he held until his retirement in 2009. While at Concordia Seminary, he also served as director of the Institute for Mission Studies. From 1994 to 2010, he spent three months each year teaching at educational institutes in other parts of the world. [3]
