Hari ng Selda: Anak ni Baby Ama 2 (lit. ' "King of the cell block: Son of Baby Ama 2" ') is a 2002 Philippine action film co-written and directed by Deo Fajardo Jr. Robin Padilla reprises his role as the titular character.
The film was shot mostly inside the New Bilibid Prison, where Robin Padilla was serving a 17-year jail term for illegal possession of firearms. It caught the attention of Viva Films, which sued Padilla for breach of contract in which he is an exclusive artist. This prompted the film's release, originally in late 1995, to be delayed to January 1996.
Bato has caused controversy for being released at the time dela Rosa was a candidate for the 2019 Philippine Senate election. The Commission on Elections has warned that dela Rosa could be disqualified if the film is still being aired in Philippine cinemas on February 12, 2019 or the official start of the campaign period for national candidates.
The film was slated to be released in July. However, it didn't push through due to Ruffa Gutierrez's involvement in the 1994 Manila Film Festival scam, resulting to her being temporarily banned from the theaters, and a string of lawsuits Robin Padilla faced at that time, including his conviction for illegal possession of firearms and his breach of contract with Viva.
