YouTube ads are getting out of hand. i'm speaking it out, youtube ads have gone to a whole new level. on every video i click there is an ad and it's mostly an unskippable video, sometimes 2. i'm not even getting to the point on how incredibly annoying the ads are, and sometimes malicious or dangerous, in contrast to other platforms. like how do ...
Idk I’m just petty I think I’ll spend 30 minutes to avoid 30 seconds of ads. Maybe I’ll learn something along the way. But also I’ve spent 0 minutes so far for yt specifically. Firefox + ublock still just works and it’s what I’ve used forever. Also yt-dl is easy enough to automate if it comes to it.
Step 1: Turn off all browser extensions (which are related to adblocking and/or youtube) and remove (or disable) any ad blockers. After that restart your browser. Step 2: Install the browser extension ublock origin. Step 3: Go to ublock settings interface. Step 4: Click on the tab "My Filters".
Most YouTube videos are 10 minute low budget things made by 1 person of unknown quality, not full blown million dollar TV shows that are almost guanranteed to be worth the wait. When those 10 minutes of YouTube are then interrupted by 30 second ads every 3 minutes, it becomes absolutely unbearable.
The issue is, more ads, unfiltered ads and expensive premium prices are the exact reasons why People use ad blockers. If more people use ad blockers, YouTube receives less money and therefore needs to increase frequency of ads or price of premium even more. And thus an endless cycle.
Theres absoltely no reason to have any ad over 1 minute long. The worst part is that these ads aren't even ads. They are straight up youtube videos that are trying to just force you to watch their youtube video hoping you suddenly like em or something. These ads need to calm the fuk down because its too much.
Ads are already annoying in itself. The worst though is the fact that ads seem completely unmoderated. Most of the ads I get are straight up scams. YouTube can’t be bothered to responsible for the ads that run on their platform, so I’m constantly seeing ads for fake mobile games, health products and financial scams.
ADMIN MOD. The youtube ads are unbearable.. Discussion. I know that the ads have gotten worse over the years. But this war has gone over to nuclear. 1 minute (multiple ads) unskippable, in the end it will be full commercial breaks like on TV. And their constant pushing for youtube premium, as well as making life more difficult for adblock users ...

If a website is secure (HTTPS), guests (ads) can't come in unless they're on the guest list. In this case, the guest list is for youtube.com, but you're on youtube.com., which has no guest list, so no ads are allowed in. YouTube and its ad partners should have created a guest list for youtube.com., but they didn't think of doing that.
