Surf Life Saving Northern Region is the largest of four regions that make up Surf Life Saving New Zealand. [1] As of the 2021/2022 season, it is made up of 18 clubs that look after 22 patrol locations from Ahipara to Raglan on the West Coast and from Whangārei Heads to Takapuna on the East Coast.
Directly south of Pōhutukawa Bay Beach is Granny's Bay Beach, and a little further south is Long Bay Regional Park. The beach is accessible only at low tide, and it is among one of Auckland's most popular naturist beaches. Waverley Beach. Waverley has a black sand beach, the colour is due to iron sand deposits. The campground at the beach is well used in the summer months, as the beach provides safe surfing. Waverley has a number of cafes and coffee shops and is a popular place for tourists to stop for a break before entering the Taranaki region.

Henderson Bay is a bay on the Aupouri Peninsula, near the very top of the North Island in New Zealand. [1] It is on the eastern side of the peninsula next to the Pacific Ocean and 7 km off New Zealand State Highway 1, 66 km south of Cape Reinga and 10 km north of Houhora. A gravel road connects the bay to the highway.
