Garland is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, located within Dallas County with portions extending into Collin and Rockwall counties. It is located northeast of Dallas and is a part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
Downtown Garland station (previously North Garland Transit Center and Garland Central Transit Center) is a DART light rail station located in Garland, Texas. The route runs roughly parallel to Interstate 30, passing through Rowlett, Rockwall, Fate, Royse City, and Caddo Mills. It also crosses Lake Ray Hubbard twice. It is known locally as Lakeview Parkway in Rowlett and as Avenue B in Garland.

After passing under I-635, Northwest Highway enters Garland. The highway follows an east-west run to Centerville Road, where it turns to the southeast. After the La Prada Drive intersection, Northwest Highway enters Mesquite as Northwest Drive. The road changes directions again, back to an eastbound route, at I-30.
