Vail Ski Resort is a ski resort in the western United States, located near the town of Vail in Eagle County, Colorado [1].At 5,289 acres (8.3 sq mi; 21.4 km 2), it is the third-largest single-mountain ski resort in the U.S., behind Big Sky and Park City, [2] featuring seven bowls and intermediate gladed terrain in Blue Sky Basin.
In 1970, Breckenridge was purchased by the Aspen Skiing Company. From 1970 to 1978, the resort expanded onto Peak 9, opening four Riblet double chairlifts (Lift 4 on Peak 8, Lifts B, C, and D on Peak 9) and one triple chairlift (Lift A). Lift A serviced beginner terrain, while Lift C services trails on the north part of the main Peak 9 face.

Treasure Mountain's name was changed to the Park City Ski Area for its fourth season of 1966–67; in 1996, it was renamed Park City Mountain Resort. The resort had grown to include eight peaks and nine bowls, with 3,300 acres (5.2 sq mi; 13.4 km 2 ) of skiing and sixteen chairlifts. [ 6 ]
The former Strawberry Park triple was relocated and renamed Elkhorn, providing mountain access for real estate owners. In 1993, Beaver Creek purchased the small, adjacent Arrowhead Mountain, formerly an independent resort catering to the beginner and lower intermediate skier with its own Doppelmayr-constructed high speed quad.
Skiing gained in popularity, and soon ski lifts became the major part of the Riblet Tramway Company's business. They built more than 400 lifts, particularly in Washington, Oregon, and California, and as far away as Australia, New Zealand and Chile; one secondhand American lift has also been relocated to Pakistan.
