Jean Pierre was Born 26 March 1944 in Fyzabad Trinidad and died on 2 December 2002, after a long battle with colon cancer in the Cayman Islands where she was working as a coach. She was an outstanding netball player who played on the highly decorated 1979 T&T netball team that shared the World Championship with Australia and New Zealand.
The Trinidad and Tobago national netball team, known as the Calypso Girls, represent Trinidad and Tobago in international netball.The Caribbean team competed at the first World Netball Championships in 1963, and are the only nation outside of Australia and New Zealand to have won a World Championship (in 1979).
