The West Indies cricket team is one of the full members of the International Cricket Council (ICC). They are the joint most successful team along with England and India, having won two titles in 2012 and 2016. The inaugural competition was won by New Zealand after a thrilling victory over India in June 2021. The 50-over World Cup is far older and has been competed for since back in 1975.
