Watson Academy is a historic school building on Academy Street in Epping, New Hampshire, United States. Built in 1883, it is the only known surviving Queen Anne style school building in southern New Hampshire. The building, which served as Epping's high school until 1966, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. [1]
Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® course work and exams. The AP® participation rate at Exeter High School is 36 percent. The student body makeup is 48 percent male and 52 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 6 percent. Exeter High School is the only high school in the Exeter Region Coop School District. Exeter enrolls a racially and ethnically diverse student body. In the 2024–2025 school year, 57.1% of Exeter students identified as students of color. [64] In the 2019–2020 school year, 52% of the academy's 314 incoming students previously attended U.S. public schools. [89]
The Newmarket High school athletics teams compete in NHIAA Division IV. They have not won any recent championships but reached the finals in baseball in 2009 and in basketball from 2008–2009. The school mascot is the mule. The school colors are red and black. Rivals include Conant High School and Epping High School.
