The Bible are an English band. The band released two critically acclaimed albums in the mid-1980s and are best known for the independent chart hits "Graceland" and "Mahalia". Since The Bible's first split in 1990, lead singer Boo Hewerdine has maintained a solo career while the band itself has been intermittently active.

A self-taught musician by age 13, Volz joined a band with his cousins called The Wombats in 1964. They were formed while all the members were high schoolers in Metamora, Illinois. Volz would remain with the Wombats until the band dissolved in 1968. [3] In fall 1968, he formed a band called Gidian's Bible in Indianapolis.
The 2nd Chapter of Acts began as a result of the trio singing at home together as Annie played the piano. Following the death of their parents (Elizabeth in 1968 and Walter Ward in 1970), [2] Nelly and Matthew, still minors, moved in with their older sister, Annie, and her husband, recording engineer and producer, Buck Herring. Johanna Kultalahti (Aaltonen), the original lead vocalist, left in early 2013, to be replaced by Miia Rautkoski, [2] who in turn announced her departure from the band in March 2014. On May 3, 2014 the band announced Johanna Aaltonen was back with HB. [3]
The band was originally named Slainte. In 2006, they released an album called BibleCodeSundays of traditional Irish songs. The album's name refers to the Bible code and other conspiracy theories they discussed in the drink-fuelled conversations regularly held after Sunday gigs.

Bible Black was an American band, formed by two ex-Elf/Rainbow musicians: drummer Gary Driscoll and bassist Craig Gruber. It also featured guitarist Duck McDonald , Joey Belladonna (who later departed to join Anthrax ), and singer Jeff Fenholt (famous for his lead role in Jesus Christ Superstar ).
